Mission Statement

The mission of Crossroad Preschool is to provide faith-based, high quality, and affordable early childhood preschool in our community.  We desire to provide a loving and supportive environment where experiences and opportunities are created for social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual growth of a young child.

Program Goals to fulfill our Mission:

To provide an environment where children can grow socially:

  • Work and play in a nurturing environment with children their age
  • Develop social skills, which make-work and play with others a satisfying experience. This includes learning limits of behavior regarding safety, health, and respect for the rights of others
  • Learn tolerance, cooperation, and consideration for others, we are a team
  • Establish relationships with adults outside of the family

To provide an environment where children can grow emotionally:

  • Develop a positive self-concept
  • Feel secure and successful
  • Work towards independence by problem solving and self-reliance
  • Provide an atmosphere where each child feels loved, secure, and supported to try their best

To provide an environment where children can grow physically:

  • Develop large muscle skills through classroom activities, equipment, and tools
  • Develop small muscle skills through classroom activities, equipment, and tools
  • Learn nutritional awareness skills through our snacks

To provide an environment where children can grow intellectually:

  • Explore new ideas and interests
  • Creatively express themselves through art, music, language, and play
  • Make a successful transition to kindergarten when the preschool year concludes

To provide an environment where children can grow spiritually:

  • Let each child know they are chosen and loved by God
  • Accept and encourage children’s tendency to freely explore the wonders of God’s creation and express their thoughts and questions about God
  • Model everyday trust, respect, and love for others
  • Celebrating each other in how God has created us uniquely

Other Goals:

  • Prepare children for success in kindergarten and beyond
  • Value the uniqueness of each child and family
  • Encourage interactions between staff members and parents for the purpose of sharing loving and developmentally appropriate adult-child interactions
  • Provide support and parenting education for parents and guardians
  • Fulfill the need for a faith-based, affordable, early childhood program in the neighborhoods of Minneapolis
  • Instill a sense of community in children by creating relationships and serving the needs of those in our neighborhood.
